Who we are

Excite Church is a Spirit Contemporary Church  which is relevant and multi-cultural. Pioneered by Pastors Paul & Ruth Whitehead in July 2007 with a growing congregation made up of individuals just like you – ordinary people who are on a extraordinary mission to reach and impact not only the community of Kerikeri but all surrounding Northland regions too.

At Excite Church we are passionate about seeing people’s lives changed as they are touched with the power and love of God and desire to see the Kingdom of God increased by bringing the positive, life changing message of the gospel of Christ to our world.

What We Believe

  • We accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God, our authoritative guide in all aspects of faith and practice.

  • We believe there is one God: eternally present in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We affirm the need for a personal relationship with God. This is made possible by the work of Christ and is appropriated through repentance, faith, baptism in water and receiving the Holy Spirit.

  • We embrace Christ’s commission to preach the good news to all. The church is the company of those who have received the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • We look forward to Christ’s personal return and by active godliness seek to hasten the day of his coming.

Paul & Ruth Whitehead

Paul and Ruth, together with their four amazing children, have a big heart for the People of their Community. They have a vision to see lives transformed with God’s love.

Wherever possible they encourage growth, co-operation and leadership in all aspects of Church life, as well as being respected by and available for helping in, the Community.

They love to meet with and encourage Christians from other Churches, whenever possible, in order to extend the Kingdom of God and encourage Christian growth and witness in Northland.

Our Mission

To reach and impact our Community and the world with the Gospel. Seeing lives transformed and people empowered to serve and lead in every area of life.

We see Excite Church growing into a large Church that will serve as a base to provide encouragement and training for other Churches throughout Northland.

We see Excite Church purchasing land to build a modern, purpose built venue providing a range of facilities for young and old.
